‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: Is the Will – Emma wedding finally on the way?

Matthew MorrisonNext to “is (insert former couple) going to get back together,” there is one question that “Glee” fans have been asking for almost the entirety of season 4 thus far: when are we finally going to see Will and Emma tie the knot? It was almost a full year ago that the “Yes / No” episode featured the grand proposal set during the “We Found Love” pool sequence, and ever since that point we’ve been waiting almost with bated breath for something to happen.

Well, you’re in luck: that “something” is finally starting to appear as though it is just around the corner. Ryan Murphy himself has said that there will be a wedding happening related to the show right around Valentine’s Day, and there really does not seem to be any other prime candidate to fill that role at this given moment. Coach Beiste and Sue Sylvester (the only two other prominent adult characters on the show) are not dating anyone at the moment, and the young characters are all … well, too young. (That Mayan wedding from Brittany and Sam really shouldn’t count.)

But will a Will / Emma wedding go off without a hitch? That is what we are doubting at the moment, mostly because nothing in the world of “Glee” seems to work out that way. Ultimately, we’re just rather thrilled to see Matthew Morrison and Jayma Mays (who is not even a series regular this year) getting an opportunity to have some more stories told; we’ve always been a believer that “Glee” is a better show when Mr. Schuester is front and center, and it’s been a while since that has happened.

There are rumors suggesting that this February 14 extravaganza could actually be some sort of two-hour special, but we have no way of confirming that right now. As a matter of fact, there should be an “American Idol” episode that keeps that from happening unless Fox has opted to pull a last-minute change with their schedule.
