New Year’s resolutions: What ‘Glee,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Mad Men’ characters want

Naya RiveraWith it being New Year’s Eve, now felt like the perfect time to look towards the future not just for our own site after a very successful 2012 (which we owe entirely to you as readers), but for some of our characters on TV. Some of them had pretty great years, whereas others probably wish at this very moment that they buried themselves in a hole in January and stayed in there until December.

In looking back at what they have been up to in the past twelve months, we’ve come up with a helpful list of what all of these familiar faces should do moving forward in order to have a better 2013. Of course, some of these challenges are going to be easier than others for the characters listed below; as a matter of fact, some may even be impossible.

Santana Lopez, “Glee” – Get to New York City, as your current storyline is really taking you nowhere.

Jax Teller, “Sons of Anarchy” – Stop being more and more like Clay. Aren’t you supposed to hate this guy?

Nick Miller, “New Girl” – To start seeing Jess as more than just the quirky girl living in your loft. (Okay, we’re projecting with this one.)

Everyone on “Game of Thrones” – Try and not die.

Everyone from “Jersey Shore” – Try and keep your careers alive.

Raj, “The Big Bang Theory” – To find an actual love interest, and stop being marginalized compared to the other characters.

Hannah Horvath, “Girls” – Do something that makes you a little less pathetic.

Brody’s children, “Homeland” – To either be completely absent from the storyline, or to have some purpose beyond either whining or acting like everything is okay.

Sean Lowe, “The Bachelor” – Actually find someone that you marry later on down the road, and do so without making yourself look either horrible or humiliating.

Peggy Olson, “Mad Men” – To make everyone at SCDP very, very upset that they let you go.

Leslie Knope, “Parks and Recreation” – In her mind, it is probably to go from City Council member to President within the span of 365 days.

The Greendale Seven Six, “Community” – Flunk school, that way we can have a season 5.

What New Year’s resolutions do you see some of your favorite characters having? Be sure to share your ideas below, and you can also look back on what some of these characters would want for Christmas, you can do so over here.
