‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 debate. Is there hope for Klaus / Caroline, others?
Before we take a little bit of time off for the Christmas holiday, we thought it best to introduce a rather interesting debate when it comes not only to the subject of love, but the subject of love within a show so many of us already know and love to great lengths: “The Vampire Diaries.”
Pairings have been a key part of the show since the very beginning, and while there are times in which we would love to see the show take a step back here and focus a little bit more on other parts of these characters’ lives, there is little question that this is what many fans want. So with that in mind, we’ve composed a list of some prospective couples who are not currently together, and what it would take in order to get them in each others’ arms by the end of the season.
Caroline and Klaus – This is clearly one of the most sought-after pairings, but also one that is unlikely to happen until at least the end of the season. After all, Joseph Morgan’s character has quite a bit of explaining to do after his latest killing spree, and dare we say it, but the man actually feels heartbroken over being used.
Elena and Stefan – Even these two are not together, we have a hard time believing that the two of them will ever be really over.
Elena and Elijah – Let’s just focus first on getting Elijah back on the show, shall we? This is the least likely of all of them, though these two do have their fans.
Bonnie and Jeremy – During the midseason finale, these two started to spend more time together a solid season removed from the whole Jeremy-kissing-the-ghost-of-his-ex incident. Bonnie may be ready to move forward with him, but if so, don’t expect an easy road.
Matt and Rebekah – We’ve been quietly rooting for this one even since last season, but like with Klaus, Rebekah still have some damage control to do after the bridge incident. However, at least she is awake now, which is better than nothing.

i love damon and elena together, they just have chemistry, that her and stefan don’t have. stefan and elena as a couple annoyed me, they got so boring so fast! damon and elena will be great together, they will challenge each other, it won’t be a one sided relationship like stefan and her were. if you ask me they both make each other better people, damon gets compassion, elena becomes a heroine instead of a damsel in distress. i watch this show for damon and elena and honestly wouldn’t care if there was no more stefan.

Damon and Elena. The only reason I have watched this show is for Damon to be with Elena. Elena and Stefan are so boring and after everything that has happened, it would be disgusting for her to go back to Stefan and for Stefan to take her back. I like Stefan and think the show has always done a good job of making both characters likeable. Find Stefan a new love interest. Also, Caroline and Klaus, they are so cute! Tyler is blah.

Although, Damon and Elena do have a connection. They have a passion that Stefan and Elena dont have, but what Elena and Stefan have is so much more – They have a future. From the first season, all viewers could see that there was a spark and that it would lead to more within a while. When Damon and Elena met, there was no spark. There was a bond that meant for them to be friends. I think that’s all Damon and Elena should be, just good friends.

I think Stefan and Elena are better off together. Elena has always had a soft spot for Damon but Stefan is some one she cant bare to lose. Stefan consumes her, which is what makes the show more interesting and what makes us keep wanting to know what’s going to happen each week, Damon and Stefan’s characters show how much care there is in vampires. It shows how they are still able to love.

I think Damon and Elena are perfect.. They have passion and excitement, unlike her and Stefan. When I see Damon and Elena together it keeps me coming back wanting more..
