Even though we knew that there was an upcoming episode of “Glee” entitled “Naked,” we still did not expect to see something quite like the promo that we have below following Thursday night’s new episode “Glee, Actually.” Has there been a more-risque clip released for the show in the past? Possibly, but few have been as random as this one.
The promo actually splices footage together from a number of upcoming episodes (as the first one back on January 17 is “Sadie Hawkins Dance”), but the footage that clearly stands out is either of characters disrobing or talking about it. First, we have a shot of Chord Overstreet’s abs as Sam Evans has figured out another reason to take his shirt off; in addition to that, we also have Dean Geyer’s Brody patrolling through Rachel’s apartment with seemingly nothing on.
To cap all of this off, Rachel announces to Kurt that she taking a role that will require her to go topless for a scene, which is pretty enormous leap for someone who is as conservative as she is to make. Is this a quick response to what happened with Cassandra during the “Britney 2.0” episode a little earlier this year? It’s possible, since Lea Michele’s character obviously wants to be taken seriously and prove that she can handle the steamier scenes. Of course, there is a difference between steamy scenes and doing something like this, which is not something every real actress chooses to do when looking for roles.
