ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: Beckett’s Valentine’s Day surprise

Even though we may not have another new “Castle” season 5 episode coming up until January 7, there are still plenty of reasons to feel the love when it comes to the show’s upcoming Valentine’s Day episode, at least based on what we are hearing now.

According to a new report from TVLine, the aforementioned episode featuring Nathan Fillion’s former “Firefly” co-star Gina Torres as a “Real Housewives”-type personality is also going to function as the Valentine’s Day episode for the show, and this means that there is going to be all sorts of opportunities for Castle and Beckett to get a little bit of romance on. Considering that their Christmas was more than a little bit muted when it came to presents, you have to assume already that there is going to be some rather serious giving going on here now when it comes to presents.

Here is what showrunner Andrew W. Marlowe had to say about the hour to the website:

“Castle and Beckett are talking about what they got each other, and there’s a subtle competition between the two of them … [Rick trying to make up for a lack of Christmas gifts) in and of itself brings its own complications…. Let’s just say that some wild hijinks ensue as he tries to deliver her present.”

Considering that we are always a fan of hijinks, especially when Fillion is involved, you have to love where this episode is going. Hopefully, this will also help to further along our primary relationship a little bit more; while the Christmas episode was a step forward as Beckett decided to leave her past in the past, it also was a bit of a wake-up call that talk of marriage is still a little ways away, and these are people who are still getting to know each other.
