NBC’s ‘Smash’ season 2 spoilers: Jennifer Hudson highlights new cast preview
For fans of “Smash,” February cannot come fast enough. That is when the hit NBC musical will be back with some all-new episodes, which should hopefully present for us a much deeper look into the show’s world of Broadway than anything that we have seen thus far. There are going to be some major changes, as well, following a season 1 that was polarizing at best, and one of the primary ones is going to be seeing Jennifer Hudson in a series regular role as a stage legend who takes Katharine McPhee’s Karen under her wig.
Want to know all that this implies? While the preview below does not exactly give too much away, it does still feature some interviews with many cast members about the direction that the show (and the Marilyn Monroe musical “Bombshell”) is heading on. As if this was not enough, we also know now that there is also going to be another musical that will be a part of the main story this year, at least when it comes to bringing some characters over and amping up the excitement to new levels.
Some of the other guest stars who are set to appear this season include legendary singer Liza Minnelli along with Debra Messing’s former “Will & Grace” co-star Sean Hayes. The show is not going to have “The Voice” as a lead-in this time around, so you have to hope that its audience is going to be willing to sustain the ratings on their own.
