‘Downton Abbey’ season 3: CBS to air interview special with Hugh Bonneville, cast
Just in case you absolutely cannot wait until “Downton Abbey” season 3 premieres on PBS on Sunday, January 6, we have some great news: CBS is giving you the plum opportunity now to hear some more news pertaining to the hit show a little bit early. (Notice: This article contains no spoilers from the British airings of the show. Read on with confidence.)
On Sunday morning as a part of their (ironically-titled) “CBS Sunday Morning” broadcast, we are going to see some exclusive interviews straight from the show’s set with the likes of executive producer Julian Fellowes and such stars as Hugh Bonneville, Dan Stevens (rumored to be leaving the show), Michelle Dockery, and more. These interviews by Martha Teichner were conducted in the summer while the cast was actually filming at Highclere Castle (the real setting for the show)so CBS has been sitting on this footage for some time.
As just a sample of what we can expect from the specific interviews, the network released in a statement the following funny quote from Bonneville about how everyone expects him to more or less be Robert Grantham even when he is walking around in his day-to-day life:
“I think people expect me to behave like a lord and have a Labrador at my heels all the time … I don’t… I go to the supermarket in my jeans and my sweatshirt.”
“Downton Abbey” has quickly grown into a global phenomenon, and one of the primary reasons why is that the subject matter, despite being about British society, is still something viewers around the world can relate to. It also helps that the show is impeccably designed, and the acting is among the best on TV.
If you want to see the recent recap video for “Downton Abbey” put out recently by CBS, all you have to do is visit the story that is up over here. Be sure to check back this weekend, as we will (as promised) have our interview with “The Chronicles of Downton Abbey” author Jessica Fellowes.
