‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Death coming in midseason finale

It would not be “The Vampire Diaries” without someone prominent losing their life, and it looks as though we are going to be seeing something of this variety very soon. How soon? Let’s just say that you may be tearing up in a number of weeks.

According to a new report from TV Guide, a character, who we have known since all the way back in season 1, is set to lose their life during the upcoming midseason finale later this month. It should be noted that there is no evidence that this is necessarily a series regular, but someone who is at least a part of the fabric of Mystic Falls.

So who are some of the leading targets here? It’s probably fair to rule out Elena, Damon, and Stefan, mostly because they are the basis on which the rest of the show revolves. It’s also fair to scratch off such new faces as Klaus, Dr. Fell, Professor Shane, and Rebekah. This death is going to be emotional for whatever character it impacts, mostly since the people who we have known on the show since the very beginning are those that we have formed a tight attachment to, mostly because we have seen them go through so much already. However, it also makes sense for there to be an excess of death. We know what sort of show that this is, and death seems to only be an inevitable result of some of the violence that frequently permeates through these vampires’ lives. With Elena now sporting a set of fangs, it is likely to get even worse far before it gets better.
