‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 8 preview: Going retro

Grey's Anatomy Season 9Remember the days when some of the “Grey’s Anatomy” interns would sit around and complain about the attendings? Well, these complainers are now the folks being complained about, as evidenced by the latest sneak peek for Thursday night’s new episode.

While it is still early and there is much of this episode still to see, there is one sort of general feeling that we are getting from us thus far: filler. Producers behind the ABC drama know that this is a song season, and that there are plenty of stories out there still to tell. With that in mind, they have to have a few stories here and there that allow some of the series regulars to have a little bit of time off. This may be one of them, since the focus really seems to be on the new faces that are still so new it’s hard to remember who any of them are save for the ones being played by Gaius Charles and Camilla Luddington.

Just in case you were not getting enough of a retro feel courtesy of sitting around watching some interns complain about their bosses, know this: if you listen to the very end of the clip below from the episode, you will get a little bit of an homage to some of the early days of the show. It’s nice to see Shonda Rhimes paying her dues here and reminding us just what this show used to be, in addition to what it is today (which, thankfully, is good television in its own right).

What do you think about seeing more of the interns? If you want to see Sara Ramirez speak out on the future of “Grey’s Anatomy” beyond season 9, you can do so just by clicking on the story over here.
