NBC’s ‘Go On’ casts Piper Perabo in Matthew Perry comedy
Matthew Perry hasn’t really had a lot of luck when it comes to new television series since his time on “Friends”. He starred on “Mr Sunshine” and “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” (which we actually loved), but both of the freshman series were cancelled before ever seeing a second season.
The good news is that Perry’s new NBC comedy “Go On” has been well received by fans and critics alike and while some of the success is due to Perry’s role on the show, it also has a lot to do with a very funny supporting cast and a pretty simple but effective story line. Perry plays a sportscaster named Ryan King who has a difficult time dealing with the passing of his wife, so he joins a support group to try and get his life back on track and maybe, just maybe, get back out on the dating scene and meet someone new.
So when will Ryan meet a new lady love? Well it looks like it might be sooner then we think. According to Deadline, “Covert Affairs” actress Piper Perabo has been signed onto the comedy for a three-episode arch where she will play a former group member returning to therapy, who will end up in a relationship with Ryan. How far will this romance go? At this point she’s only signed on for three episodes so we shouldn’t be expecting to hear any church bells at this point.
The next new episode of “Go On” will be airing on Tuesday December 4, at 9:00 p.m. on NBC, so if you haven’t had a chance to check this comedy out yet we highly recommend that you do.
