‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ spoilers: Who is the modern day Bloody Face?

Dylan McDermottRyan Murphy had a nice slow build when it came to the big reveal of who Bloody Face was back in the 1960’s in “American Horror Story: Asylum”, but it’s easy to forget that Murphy decided to have a modern day Bloody Face at the abandoned Briar cliff asylum as well.

The Adam Levine (Leo) and Jenna Dewan-Tatum (Teresa) storyline has been fairly forgettable and up until this point we really see no reason for there to be the two different timelines going on. We were disappointed to learn that the modern day Bloody Face that was terrorizing Leo and Teresa was nothing more then a bunch of teenagers, but when they met their demise from the real modern day Bloody Face (as did Leo) we thought maybe this is going somewhere after all. So far it’s still difficult to make a connection with Teresa because we have barely gotten to know her character, so when we learned a few episodes back that she’s been taken by the modern day Bloody Face, we didn’t feel the same panic as when Dr. Thredson took Lana back in the 60’s.

Dylan McDermottSo who is actually playing the modern day Bloody Face? Why it’s none other then “American Horror Story” season 1 star Dylan McDermott. Many viewers guessed that McDermott was behind the mask after he spoke a few weeks back, but now the actor has confirmed through his Twitter account that it is indeed him (he also posted a very cool picture of him in a rubber apron.)

Why is McDermott’s character continuing on Dr. Thredson’s killing spree? We don’t know the motivation at this time, but we are guessing that with Thredson’s mother issues that this is probably his son. Be sure to leave your theories below in the comment section.

The next new episode of “American Horror Story: Asylum” will be airing on Wednesday December 5th at 10 p.m. on FX. Will you be tuning in?
