‘The Good Wife’ season 4, episode 9 preview: Ready for Alicia’s mom?
As if Alicia Florrick did not have enough problems to deal with on “The Good Wife” season 4 at the moment, she is about to run headfirst into another one: her own mother. Stockard Channing of “The West Wing” is coming on board Sunday night’s all-new episode to take on this much-discussed role, and she is going to waste pretty much no time at all getting involved in everyone’s business.
First and foremost, the woman makes one thing very clear to Peter when it comes to her daughter: she will never divorce him, so if he has it in his heart, it may be better for him to just let her go. However, this is not exactly going to be an easy thing for him to do, either; fans of Peter and Alicia together are going find quite a bit worth celebrating in this episode, as they will be spending a lot of time together … and possible in some romantic situations? The promo below suggests show, but it also suggests that we are going to need more win to get through the madness that is about to ensue.
Really, one of the real joys of “The Good Wife” is that they did not rush the “meet Alicia’s mom” story until it was something that really felt natural within the show. This is really the sort of story that we see on most shows during their second season when they are running out of steam, but the fact that Channing’s character is coming on board right now seems brilliant given the trouble Alicia is already in right now given the state of Lockhart Gardner and all of the journalists sniffing around her marriage.
Is this one “Good Wife” episode that you have been looking forward to in particular?
