‘Bones’ season 8 spoilers: Is Booth the best comic ever?

On Monday night’s “Bones” season 8 episode, we are going to be seeing quite a bit of the comedy world … even though it is a little bit unclear still just how much humor will actually be involved.

The basic mystery here is something that we have seen countless times before on murder mystery shows: someone from the comedy world turns up dead, and it is up to our lead detectives (in this case Booth and Brennan) to try and figure it out. Now, this is where things get a little bit more original: for whatever reason, solving this case for Booth means getting deeply immersed into the comedy world, even to the point where he is cracking jokes at a club. Can you imagine this working very well? Well, he has already figured out one way in which to ensure that things will end up going very badly for him: showing everyone in the audience that he has a gun in his possession. If he wanted to ensure awkward laughter and bolting for the exit sign, this is the way in which to do so.

Really, there is not too much else known about this episode at the moment, but we do at least like the fact that after some emotional episodes this season (in particular “The Patriot in Purgatory”), the show is finding a way to lighten things up a little bit. Plus, there’s always been something a little sadistic and fun about having a few laughs at the expense of David Boreanaz’s leading man.
