‘Homeland’ season 2, episode 8 preview: Brody and Jess break down (video)
“We are supposed to be the examples of what’s right and what’s wrong.” This is the quote that stands out to us in the latest clip from Sunday night’s new episode of “Homeland” season 2, which is yet again another fine example of someone getting Nick Brody as angry as humanly possible.
To be fair, the guy at the moment has to feel as though he is constantly on the brink of having a heart attack. After all, who else could handle the pressure of being a double agent for the CIA and a terrorist organization, while at the same time trying to have a united front at home with your wife Jess (who is constantly in a state of panic), a daughter who was just involved in a hit-and-run, and with aspirations of being the next Vice-President of the United States?
The sneak peek illuminates what are Jess’ thoughts about how the CIA banned Brody from allowing Dana to turn herself in to the police over the incident, and he was insistent that it was something that he wanted to do for the sake of both justice and of setting a good example. However, Dana is now on the run and neither parent seems to know where she is, or what she is doing. This poses an interesting question: would Brody almost be better off if he just told Dana some of what is going on? While we are sure that he would still lie about being on Team Abu Nazir during season 1, he could at least explain why it is so important that he and the CIA figure this out in order to save the lives of many Americans. (Then again, it could also help if he told Jess, and he is just making this problem harder on himself than it needs to be.)
What do you think about Brody is handling this issue?
