‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: How does Joe Manganiello turn up?

As you probably know already, Monday night’s new “How I Met Your Mother” season 8 episode is going to feature the return of “True Blood” alum Joe Manganiello as Brad, the old law-school buddy of Marshall’s that we first saw a few years ago before the actor become more of a big star.

When we learned that we were going to be seeing him again, it was assumed that he was going to have a reasonable amount of success behind him; but based on what we are seeing now courtesy of a new sneak peek from the episode, that is not entirely the case. Marshall instead runs into Brad looking overweight and disheveled on the street, and quickly learns that he was laid off two years ago and has been looking for a job. So where is he looking? Let’s just say that before Marshall steps in and offers to help him land a job at Honeywell & Cootes, he was more than willing to dress up as a giant bratwurst and parade around in the streets.

As you likely saw in the other sneak peek that we posted from the episode, this interview does not exactly go according to plan as Brad repeatedly brings up how his psychic and other bizarre members of his team of spiritual advisers all helped him to make some decisions when it comes to his professional life. The guy has clearly gone off the rails since Marshall last saw him, and that explains why he is just as concerned with eating in the sneak peek as he is with doing anything else.
