‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 5 spoilers: Clay’s latest rise to power (video)

No matter who else may come up as an opposition to Jax on “Sons of Anarchy,” whether it be rival gangs, Damon Pope, or even his own inner demons, there always seems to be one constant: no matter what goes down, Clay is the villain left standing. He’s a cockroach that cannot be killed; and even when you think you have him contained, he somehow finds a way to rise from the ashes.

At the end of Tuesday’s season 5 episode, we saw this happen to an extent as Gemma gave in to the part of her hoping to reconcile with this guy, which forced Jax to craft some sort of alternate plan with Eli to try and take the guy down as the architect behind the home invasions. To make matters worse, the promo for next week’s episode makes it appear as though Clay is going to do what he can to seize back control of SAMCRO. He warns Jax to take Tara and the kids out of town, but he does not seem to be altogether keen to listen. We suspect that there is going to be war coming up here between the two parties, but it will not be the only problem that awaits many of these people in Charming.

The biggest question that really remains for this 90-minute installment is just where the loyalties lie for everyone else in the club not names Jax or Clay: whose leadership are they going to embrace, and how does a place so dysfunctional, especially with Juice’s recent betrayal in mind, really deal with all of this drama? Luckily, we are going to have answers to these questions and more soon.
