On Friday, we shared with you the first photo from an upcoming “Castle” season 5 episode that seemed to have a rather interesting definition of Christmas spirit; and now, the official description coming in from ABC brings to light that while this man Castle and Beckett find dead inside of New York’s most-famous park may or may not be Santa Claus, his name is in fact Kris Kringle.
Check out the full description for “Secret Santa” below (via SpoilerTV), which thankfully also includes a touch of levity courtesy of some holiday shopping:
“Castle and Beckett investigate when a bearded man named Kris Kringle falls from the sky in Central Park; Beckett and Castle work on a Christmas list together.”
Who would want to kill just a jolly old elf? This is the curious part of the episode, and even though this sort of story has been done a number of times before in the murder-mystery genre (which is something that we have said previously), “Castle” always finds a way to take some of these stories and inject a form of creativity into them that was not quite there in the past. Therefore, we should be in for plenty of yuletide cheer … even if we have to get through a murder case to get to it, strange as that may sound.
Before we arrive to this case, there are still some other “Castle” season 5 episodes to tackle … including Monday night’s installment, which will feature all of the characters getting involved in a rock music documentary. Want more on that subject? Come back Sunday, as we will have a plethora of sneak peeks to share.
