‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 spoilers: Major Cristina / Owen scoop ahead

It probably goes without warning here considering the title of this article, but you’ve been warned: there is some potentially swoon-worthy “Grey’s Anatomy” season 9 scoop ahead. If you want to still be surprised at the end of the day by what is coming up, it’s probably best to turn your head and take off in the other direction.

Speaking in a new interview with E! News, executive producer Shonda Rhimes explained that in an upcoming episode of the show, we are going to be seeing something steamy coming up between two people who have had so much distance between them in Owen and Cristina that they have lived and worked in separate states:

“There is gonna be some Cristina-Owen kissing … Actually, there is gonna be more than kissing. We filmed it already. It’s coming.”

Does this mean that they are back together for good? Now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves here! All this really means is that the two are going to at least prove to us that the feelings are still there, as is a desire to try and work through some of the issues stemming from last year. However, there are more problems here than just Owen’s one-night stand; the two obviously want very different things when it comes to children, and this is the sort of fundamental difference between a couple that can cause a breakup before things really even get going again. Thankfully, they each have a little bit more of a support system now that Owen and Derek have grown closer, and Cristina and Meredith are just about as tight as they always were.
