Lindsay Lohan pulls out of Barbara Walters interview over possible new charges
Lindsay Lohan does not want to be asked about whether or not she will be arrested for allegedly lying to police following a car accident over the summer; and with that in mind, she has canceled the one high-profile TV interview that she had coming up on the horizon.
According to a report from TMZ, the troubled former teen star was set to film an interview with Barbara Walters this week in order to promote her new Lifetime TV movie “Liz & Dick,” but her new PR team over at Rogers & Cowan thought it would be a mistake for her to be in a situation where she could end up saying something that could put the case in jeopardy. Walters and Lohan were originally supposed to talk more about the project and Lindsay’s personal feelings on Elizabeth Taylor, but she later expressed that she also wanted to ask a few questions about her personal life, to go along with it.
“Liz & Dick” is still set to air on November 25, and if current expectations hold, this could end up being one of the most-anticipated TV movies in the history of cable network. The only problem Lifetime may have is finding a way to promote it. If Lohan does do any press for it, she is going to have to negotiate to make sure that she does not do an interview where questions about her legal woes will come up, at least until this current matter is sorted out with police. We will say this: just when it seemed as though “Liz & Dick” could not have any more of a tumultuous journey to the small screen, it somehow finds a way to become complicated all over again.
Do you think Lohan is making the right move to not do the interview, and do you have any interest in this project at all?
