‘Duck Dynasty’ review: Red-belly rules

After a week off of the air due to Halloween, “Duck Dynasty” returned to A&E Wednesday night for an all-new episode, and it was hard not to be happy happy happy about it. The first of the two episodes was almost like an episode of “Hoarders,”  as we learned just what sort of junk that the Duck Commander crew really keeps inside of their warehouse. In addition to that, we also found out that Si is not afraid to eat fruit that is on top of a pile of dung.

Granted, Si didn’t meant to do this, but it provided some hilarious moments as he decided to go to the doctor rather than actually mess with having to do any sort of manual labor at the warehouse. The irony here? In doing so, he missed one of the best wastes of time ever as Willie was talked into playing a game of ping-pong with red-belly rules. What does this entail? Basically, having a ball smacked as hard as possible at your bare stomach if you lose.

It’s really just wacky, random, and so funny that it is hard to stop laughing once you start. This episode had all of that, and it also had Phil calling his grandkids “nerds” just because they were playing a few video games. (Hey, you really cannot stay outdoors forever, right?) The MVP of this season so far is clearly Si, who seems to literally grow more crazy and less self-away as the show goes on. This goes in contrast to most other reality shows, where people start to change when they realize how famous that they are.

The second episode focused on Willie and Si being interviewed on Mountain Man’s radio program – the slowest talking radio program ever. Si did his best to turn Willie’s interview into a circus of stories and lies to make it more entertaining for the listeners and it seemed to work as the station replayed the interview over and over much to the delight of everyone at Duck Commander.  Jase on the other hand was at war with the housing commission as he felt it was his right to skin a deer and burn trails of leaves in his driveway while chasing live chickens around his yard. in the end his contract with the commission left him out in the cold wondering why he pays people to tell him what he can and cannot do on his own property.

What did you think about this episode?
