‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 5, episode 9 preview: What is Gemma up to?

On Tuesday night’s new episode of “Sons of Anarchy” season 5, we could see a number of surprises in between a shocking death, a plan to expose Clay, and a hunt for Frankie Diamonds. So what is Gemma going to be up to outside of trying to do Jax’s bidding in the seediest way possible? Well, we now have a tiny teaser to share.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Katey Sagal’s character will be visiting a mausoleum at one point during the episode … but the answer here for the time being is why. Is she mourning the dead, or making plans to destroy someone else? The only thing worth hoping for here is that the one person who she is not trying to ruin further is herself, at least following a pretty epic meltdown and car accident a few weeks ago.

Away from this small teaser, there is one other question now worth asking: are the ratings going to be as strong as they have been all year? It was a ballsy decision for FX to air a new episode against the Presidential election, as many viewers could still be eagerly awaiting results from polls around the country. Depending on how close the voting is when the episode airs, this could end up being the only bit of television more dramatic than what is going on with SAMCRO in the fictional town of Charming.
