‘Bones’ season 8 spoilers: All about Booth and Brennan’s new visitor

“Bones” season 8 has been on a long, tiresome break ever since MLB playoffs took the show off of the air last month, but just in time for the November sweeps, Booth and Brennan are going to be back on the air Monday night with a new mystery … and a new houseguest.

In case you have not heard yet, Sweets is going to become the latest edition to our leads’ humble abode, and it is not going to end up going according to plan. Sweets is going to make things very, very awkward in almost a record amount of time after moving in following a breakup, and executive producer Stephen Nathan elaborates on this a little bit further in a chat with TV Guide:

“Now that [Sweets] and Daisy broke up, we didn’t want to go through the sort of traditional mourning of Daisy and moping and stuff like that … So, we figured Booth and Brennan have a big house. Sweets becomes instantly comfortable in Booth and Brennan’s house, much to the chagrin of Booth.”

One of the elements about this twist we appreciate the most is that it shows that Nathan and Hart Hanson are staying flexible when it comes to their story plans. Sweets was originally going to only be a roommate for only one episode, but after seeing the dynamic play out, Nathan explains that it is going to be around for a little while longer:

“One of the things that worked out for us is that he leaves his psychology books around the house, and Brennan, she’s a genius. She reads them very quickly and starts to fence with Sweets a little bit about psychology.”

Just if you want to see how this is going to all play out in video form, just check out the sneak peek below and prepare to smile.
