‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 5 spoilers: What will happen with Tara, Big Otto?

For those of you who were confused about a recent episode of “Sons of Anarchy” season 5, we have some more clarification about not only what went down between Tara and Otto during their last meeting, but also whether or not we will see some more resolution to this story by the time the season comes to an end.

So did Tara sleep with Otto in exchange for getting exactly what she wanted? Not so fast. The theory has been out there, but showrunner Kurt Sutter (who also happens to play the character) explains to TVLine that viewers saw Otto leave at the end of the scene; as for why she was not entirely truthful to Jax about the meeting, it’s because she is too stubborn to give up her mission without much of a fight:

“The reason Tara [later] lied [to Jax] is because she failed, and she doesn’t want to feel like she’s letting Jax down. She half-lied. She also knew that if she told Jax exactly what [Otto] said, Jax would say, ‘F–k it. You’re not going in there again.’ She didn’t want to reveal that because she wants another crack at Otto.”

As for the future with Otto, Sutter says that we will see him and Tara a little bit more before the end of the season, and there will be some sort of conclusion to the plot. Once you consider the character’s current predicament in prison, it has to be a good thing that Sutter is finding a way to wrap this up. It’s hard to really say that he has much of a life beyond “Sons of Anarchy” season 5; but before his time on death row does run out (whenever that may be), hopefully he will be able to fill some sort of great purpose beyond just what we have seen from him thus far.
