‘Shark Tank’ preview: Seth MacFarlane and the No Fly Cone
We’re not quite sure what it is, but “Shark Tank” seems to be bringing out the celebrity endorsements more than ever this year. We have already seen the likes of “Dancing with the Stars” pros Anna Trebunskaya and Jonathan Roberts on the show along with former New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs; and with that, we now introduce you to the latest guest to arrive in the tank in “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane.
So what is the newest host of the Academy Awards doing here? In addition to hilariously burning Mark Cuban’s upscale Landmark Theaters (which have been hit by the economic downturn, like many other products for a wealthier clientele) as his character of Stewie, Seth is there to help endorse his friend Bruce’s product the No Fly Cone.
The product itself is certainly rather bizarre, as it basically utilizes your own dog’s waste as a means to attract flies and other insects, only to later catch them like the classic flytrap. It’s hard to say whether or not this product would be useful to every pet owners, but those who love to be outdoors could find quite a bit of use to something that could make their environment a little more clear of the traditional pests who interrupt a picnic lunch or a nice night watching the sunset.
As for its biggest problem, it may end up actually being Seth himself. Why? He is basically helping to endorse a product for dog owners, when he actually does not even have a dog. Whenever you see someone pitching a product on TV, you like to know that this person is using the product themselves. You don’t get that with Seth, who really here is nothing more than a funny guy with many voices.
Does this product sound appealing to you?

I am trying to touch base with Bruce, the No Fly Cone inventor. How can I do that, please? THX!
