The Flash season 6 spoilers: When is Gorilla Grodd returning?

Grodd -

Gorilla Grodd is one of the most notable villains within the world of The Flash, and seeing him has become an annual tradition. He’s not the sort of character who can be brought back more than that, though, largely because this hyper-intelligent ape is a budget nightmare for the show. It costs a lot of money to get all of that CGI together!

So while we cannot say for certain who is going to survive the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event, we can go ahead and tell you when this character will return. Per a report from SpoilerTV, he will be back for the upcoming thirteenth episode of the season, a story entitled “Grodd Friended Me.” This is a funny title for a couple of different reasons.

1. God Friended Me over on CBS features Violett Beane, otherwise known for fans of this show as Jesse Quick, as a lead.

2. An executive producer of God Friended Me is Greg Berlanti, who also just so happens to be a chief driving force of the Arrowverse.

In the end, it’s fair to say that this is an intentionally tongue-in-cheek title for a show that does like to have a little bit of fun here and there.

Do we expect The Flash to shift to a lighter tone after the crossover? In some ways, we would say that the answer to that is “yes.” The writers, more than likely, are going to want to revert back to some earlier parts of the show’s DNA once the life-and-death stakes for Barry Allen are over. We don’t think you can just forget about the darkness that has enveloped the past several weeks, but there are some happier times coming — take, for example, us getting a chance to see the show’s version of Sue Dearbon, a.k.a. the future wife of Ralph.

As for when “Grodd Friended Me” as an episode is going to air, more than like that’s going to come in February. We’ll have more news about it in due time.
