In the midst of Sunday night’s Batwoman fall finale, one situation came to the surface rather quickly, and it had to do fully with Catherine Hamilton-Kane.
For the entirety of the time that she was imprisoned, Alice wanted nothing more than revenge. Well, during tonight’s episode, she found a way to get that through a number of different ways. Take, for example, the speech — or then, through the excruciating situation that Catherine and Mary both found themselves in. Alice was ready to force them into an impossible position thanks to a poisoning, and it certainly seemed as though we were going to lose one of them.
About ten minutes out, we were prepared for it to be Catherine completely — even if Elizabeth Anweis was listed for more episodes of the CW series, we know that this could have been a smokescreen. Also, we weren’t so sure that Kate would get there in time in order to save her.
In the end, Batwoman couldn’t get there in time and neither could anyone else. Catherine Hamilton-Kane died, and to make matters worse, Jacob found framed and was arrested for it. We supposed that for Alice, it could’ve been so much worse … but it is what it is at this point.
Let’s conclude this article by saying this — Catherine was an important part of the show, but the biggest surprise of all is that Alice seems to still have a lot of her power. We know that Kate’s going to be called into some other stuff for the time being, but she’s still going to be there when the story comes back proper in the new year. This episode was emotional, challenging, and also an introduction to one of Kate’s biggest tests to date. How is she going to be prepared for everything that is to come? She made her choice in regards to Alice, and now she has to handle whatever aftermath is there.
