Tonight marks the Supergirl season 5 fall finale, but we know that there are a lot of different things to look forward to after that. After all, the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event is coming! It’s a chance to see a number of different Arrowverse shows all at once, and in the midst of the biggest threat that we’ve ever seen on superhero television. The Anti-Monitor has the potential to destroy entire worlds in the multiverse, and do it in just about record time.
For most of the leads on various Arrowverse shows, we know that these crossovers are significant undertakings. Yet, at the same time it often means that some supporting characters are left out. We’ve seen this several times with characters within the world of Supergirl, as Kara often has to travel to Earth-1 in order to get the job done.
This time around, though, things are a little bit different. Speaking via TV Guide, Katie McGrath makes it clear that she’s thrilled to be a part of the big event this time around:
“It’s been kind of nice because every year I’m never involved, and I’ve always felt a bit left out because it’s always such a huge thing and a big deal and kind of very special because obviously so much of everything leads up to it.”
As for how Lena Luthor is involved, we imagine that it has a few things to do with the presence of Lex Luthor in the crossover. Also, we have to remember that with her resources and intellect, it feels like Lena will be essential in helping everyone from her Earth stay alive. While we’ve seen a rather-broken relationship as of late between Lena and Kara, this is a chance to repair things in earnest — and we’re excited to see what that looks like.
The Supergirl part of Crisis on Infinite Earths is going to kick things off on The CW next week. Following that, you’ll see a part on Batwoman and then The Flash before we go on hiatus. The next part of the event will premiere in 2020.
