Homeland season 8: When could we see a full trailer?
Of course, working in order to do this is going to be easier said than done. These are dangerous times and despite the long delay, we have a feeling that Homeland season 8 will be reflective of what’s going on in 2020 when it premieres. That’s long been a series staple, after all!
So when will the first trailer for season 8 come out? We would imagine that there will be something more coming soon, given that early February isn’t that far away and Showtime should want to get some attention out there for it soon. (Note that there is a teaser out there, but a trailer to us is something more than a minute in length.)
It’s possible that the network could opt for something next month — that way, they could release more clips and generate even more buzz leading into the holiday season. Because this is the final season, we think that it merits an even larger promo push. It may also be a way for them to get a little bit of buzz during awards season and get Homeland more opportunities to be seen in a similar crowd. Showtime’s gotten a lot of nominations over the years for Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin, and more. This is a trend they may want to build towards early.
Worst-case scenario, we envision the network making us wait until early January to see something more. If they do that, the merit is that they allow us to get through the holidays and because of that, there are fewer distractions and things that everyone has to make it through before the premiere. We’re sure that there is a certain measure of appeal to doing things that way. Yet, the downside is that you limit exposure to the final season — give how long it’s been since season 7, you run more of a risk that viewers will not see it.
