The Blacklist season 7: Could ‘Katarina Rostova’ episode be two-parter?

There’s a chance that you’ve already heard the oh-so-great news: The Blacklist season 7 episode 10 is entitled “Katarina Rostova.” If you never needed confirmation that this is a big episode, this is it.

Now, though, we have to wonder this: Is there a chance that this episode is going to actually tie together everything on Katarina? We know that there are questions aplenty regarding the character. Heck, there are questions as to whether or not this is really Katarina. Here’s a crazy thought — what if this Katarina is actually working for the real version of the character? What if Lotte Verbeek comes back as the real version, just in the future? Let’s just say this: Crazier things have happened.

What makes The Blacklist so great from an episode-title perspective is simply this: They don’t often tell you when episodes are two-parters in advance. Entering “Katarina Rostova,” we don’t know for sure that there will be a “Katarina Rostova: Conclusion.” Even if there is one, there is really no guarantee that it will air immediately after the first part. We saw back in season 5 a willingness for the show to take breaks between part 1 and 2 of the story. We could easily see the season 7 finale entitled “Katarina Rostova: Conclusion” when it airs in the late spring.

In the end, the decision for The Blacklist to make “Katarina Rostova: Conclusion” is dependent on onee thing — how important are they treating her as a title character? If they have specific plans for the second half of this season, maybe they will move onto other things. For us, though, we kinda feel like this — if you’re going to give people like Louis T. Steinhil and Anslo Garrick two episodes in order to shine, Katarina Rostova has to be the same. Heck, this would make sense as a three-parter, not that we’re confident that the show will do that.

Do you think that the upcoming “Katarina Rostova” episode of The Blacklist could be a two-parter?
