The Flash season 6 episode 7 is going to be all sorts of bonkers — as a matter of fact, we’ve got more evidence of that very thing below!
As you can see, the sneak peek features quite the dramatic showdown between Barry Allen and then Ramsey Rosso — a character who is becoming all the more monstrous as Bloodwork over time. He has found a way to cheat death for the time being, and also take advantage of Barry being so mentally distracted. He’s spent so much time worrying about Crisis on Infinite Earths that he hasn’t focused as much on what was direct in front of him.
Of course, we do wonder whether or not any of what’s in this preview is real — especially given the wave of anti-matter at the end. It could speak to some of Barry’s psyche at the moment, realizing that he’s spent so much time worrying about the Crisis. It does also speak to the rising threat that Rosso presents as a character within this world. There are, after all, a number of different reasons why he is so compelling to watch. He’s formidable, he’s intelligent, and he’s also diabolical in a way that we haven’t seen out of a Big Bad in a while. Thanks to both the writing and also the performance of Sendhil Ramamurthy, we’d argue that he is probably the best villain we’ve seen on this series since Zoom. He’s got that sort of gravitas around him.
Also, we would argue that Ramsey has benefited somewhat from the fact that he’s been a rather short-term villain. Because the writers are only relying on him to carry eight or so episodes as the Big Bad, they can give him more of an arc with momentum. Part of the problem with a 22-episode villain is that you end up having a lot more episodes that don’t matter as much at the end of the day. Every installment of season 6 so far has felt very much significant.
