‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 5 spoilers: Will Walton Goggins return?
For those of you who loved the presence of Walton Goggins on “Sons of Anarchy” as the transgender character Venus, we have some rather good news coming your way now: you’ll be seeing more of him so long as executive producer Kurt Sutter has his way.
Speaking in an interview on the subject to TVLine, Sutter revealed that the “Justified” star, who said he was initially reluctant to cast Gpggins out of fear of associating himself too much with his past work on “The Shield,” is still very much a part of the show’s lore now. However, we should also note that there are no plans at the moment to see him come back here before the start of next season:
“My hope is to keep some of this Diosa world alive … and there’s no reason why we can’t have him back, because it was pretty fantastic.”
Will Goggins’ Venus even have the same sort of impact the second time around? The reason that his appearance was both so memorable and so epic was largely due to the fact that producers somehow managed to keep the gig completely under wraps for the entire time he was on set before the episode aired. It was something that nobody really saw coming, but at the same time it was something that “Justified” fans caught and celebrated the moment he popped up on the screen. Sutter has a knack for surprising casting; we have already seen Joel McHale step into the world of Charming this season, and later on in the year rocker Dave Navarro will be crossing over from “Ink Master” to play a role.
What do you think about the idea of Goggins returning to the show?
