The Blacklist season 7 episode 9 promo: Will Liz, Reddington join forces?
Have we enjoyed a good percentage of this season? Absolutely, but at the same time, we do think that there hasn’t been enough of Megan Boone and James Spader together. The Liz/Reddington relationship is the cornerstone of this show, and circumstances have caused them to drift apart a little bit. Reddington has been dealing with the arrival of Katarina Rostova, and we think that one of the reasons why we haven’t seen them together is because Reddington’s tried to keep Liz at arm’s length. He’s tried to hide the truth from her, whether that be to protect her or to make his life a little bit easier.
What complicates everything is simply this: Reddington doesn’t know that Katarina has been infiltrating Liz’s life for weeks now as Tolliver, her neighbor-turned-nanny who is looking after Agnes.

When “Orion Relocation Services” comes on the air in December, we imagine Liz and Reddington will get closer to being on the same page. While she may not know for sure that Tolliver is Katarina, she has more questions than ever thanks to that drawing done by Agnes. She’s got some more reasons to be concerned than she ever had before, and that leads to her asking Reddington if she should be worried about Katarina. For now, Spader’s character assures her that things are going to be okay and that she’s safe … but is she really?
If there’s one reason to think that Liz might be all right, it’s simply this — Katarina may recognize that killing Liz will never get her what she wants. Aside from her being her daughter, this would make it impossible for Reddington to do anything for her. Instead, it may put the biggest target on her back imaginable.
