Who’s ready for some more Lucifer season 5 episode-title fun? We find this one especially entertaining, mostly because of how meta it is.
In a new post on Twitter, the show’s official writers’ room confirmed that “Spoiler Alert” will be the title for the upcoming installment. Remember that these episode titles are lines of dialogue, so clearly, there is someone within the show who actually says this. It sounds hilarious already.

What’s also awesome here is, of course, the news that Kevin Alejandro is also directing this episode — meaning that there will be another personal touch attached here. Chris Rafferty’s also going to have a script that will likely combine all of the comedy and drama that you could possibly want … including a potentially-big cliffhanger. Because this is likely the last episode of Lucifer for at least a couple of months when it streams on Netflix, they’ll probably want to ensure that it ends with a bang and it keeps people excited.
As for when this said episode is going to air, that’s the real mystery for the time being. If we had to guess, we would imagine that we’d see the first half of season 5 premiere in the spring while the second part arrives in the summer/fall — this is a way to have great Lucifer-related programming throughout the year and to keep a lot of people excited and engaged. The first eight episodes will at least start with Lucifer Morningstar serving as the ruler of Hell, and with it being relatively uncertain as to whether or not he will find his way back and out of it. We feel pretty confident that he will, but it’s all a measure of when and then also how that alters the show. A lot of that could depend on finding an answer to this very question — how long will he be gone?
