Blue Bloods season 10 episode 9: Is Garrett leaving? Gregory Jbara’s future

On tonight’s new episode of Blue Bloods, we are going to get a chance to meet the New Mayor in Peter Chase. Yet, he will be spending a little bit more time dealing with Erin Reagan than with her father. That’s going to be changing moving into next week’s new episode entitle “Grave Errors.” That’s a chance to focus more on the Frank/Mayor crisis — one of the things that is a staple of this show. It doesn’t really matter who is in that Mayor’s Office; instead, all that matters is that there are always differences between police officers and politicians. It doesn’t matter who you are on the food chain.

“Grave Errors” – While working a case of a nanny accused of abuse, Erin disagrees with the psychiatric consultant, Dr. Alice Dornan (Jennifer Bowles), regarding her diagnosis and punishment suggestion. Also, Eddie confronts her boss who has a personal vendetta against the commissioner and the Reagan family name; Mayor Peter Chase (Dylan Walsh) pushes Frank to make staffing changes he is skeptical about; and Danny goes undercover on a case when a woman claims to have heard someone plotting a murder, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, Nov. 22 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

From start to finish, we’re expecting a lot of fascinating stuff to transpire here — and hopefully, some stories that also last longer than just a single episode. While we do think that the procedural formula of the show works, it doesn’t feel like there are anywhere near as many long-term stories this season as there was at this point a year ago.

The promo tonight for this episode has us especially concerned — is the new Mayor going to try and fire Garrett? We don’t want that; for now, we think both the character and actor Gregory Jbara will find a way to stay put.
