House of the Dragon season 3 episode 6 preview: A King’s Landing crisis

We recognize that moving into House of the Dragon season 3 episode 6, both Rhaenyra and Daemon have a lot on their plate. You have remnants from the war still out there, including an Ormund Hightower who is an unexpected player in the mess.
Ideally, you would love nothing more than to double your efforts to destroy any dissenters that exist out there in the world; unfortunately for them, they may have to put their focus on the very city they live. As Daemon discovered with the mass murder at the conclusion of episode 5, nothing regarding the Gold Cloaks is anywhere near secure. Not only that, but there are more supporters of Ormund and/or Daeron out there than he ever would have predicted.

At the start of episode 6, we imagine that Daemon is going to need to have some serious discussions with Rhaenyra about what they do from here, especially since there is no easy or practical solution to the problem before it. He may not care for the White Worm but at the same time, is there a better option for him now?
As for other happenings, we imagine that episode 6 is also going to spend some time tackling what happens with both Helaena and Alicent. We do not expect either one of them to be dead at this point, but will anyone have rescued them with haste? That is the mystery…
