American Horror Story: 1984 finale: Sarah Paulson not appearing
In a new post on Twitter, Paulson herself denied rumors that she would be coming back for the last episode (fittingly titled “Final Girl”) as Lana Winters, the character she played previously back on American Horror Story: Asylum. There are also rumors suggesting that Evan Peters will be playing Billy Idol, but those have not been addressed by the former series regular.

Is it possible that Paulson is coming back, but as another character? In theory sure, but she has already noted that she won’t be coming back in any form for this season. This comes after initial reports noting that she may appear in an episode or two, so that is probably one of the reasons why there is so much confusion on that subject at this given moment. (One of the things that we wonder is if Paulson could’ve ended up playing Jingles’ mother, but the role went instead to former American Horror Story series regular Lily Rabe. She’s quite fantastic in that part.)
We do at least know for sure that there will be one former cast member for the series coming back for the finale, as Finn Wittrock will be paying a visit to Camp Redwood. Why? The rumors are that the series could be jumping forward to the modern era, and in turn, you would get a chance to see Finn play the adult version of Mr. Jingles’ son. Unfortunately, there is no confirmation on that very subject as of yet.
Personally, we’re not hoping all that much when it comes to cameos in the 1984 finale — instead, we’re hoping just that there are some fun twists and maybe a tease for what season 10 could look like.
