Legacies season 2 spoilers: Chris Wood will appear as Kai
According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Wood is going to be appearing starting in February as the infamous character, who also has some serious, familial connections to both Lizzie and Josie Saltzman. Yet, we have a hard time thinking that this will be some sort of super-happy family reunion where everyone is smiling and enjoying one another’s company. Kai’s just not that kind of guy, and we have a feeling that his return to the franchise is going to be linked to all sorts of chaos that that comes down. The length of his appearance on the show remains in the camp of “to be determined.”
Wood has a lengthy history of appearing in various shows at The CW — in addition to doing The Vampire Diaries, he also worked with Julie Plec on the short-lived Containment. Meanwhile, he also had a run as Supergirl as Mon-El and got his start with the network courtesy of an arc on The Carrie Diaries. He also got married earlier this fall to his former Supergirl co-star Melissa Benoist.
Since Legacies is still very much in the early portion of its run on The CW, we recognize that we’ve got a lot of story to go from now until he returns. We also know that there is one other nostalgia-related appearance coming from an alumni of the past Julie Plec universe — you’ll have a chance to see Riley Voelkel reprise her role as Freya from The Originals for an upcoming episode airing this month. (She was originally meant to appear back in the first season.)
