Better Call Saul: When can we expect season 6 renewal?

Better Call Saul season 5

Better Call Saul season 5 is coming at some point in 2020, and because of this, we can’t help but think a little bit more towards the long-term future of the franchise.

At the moment, we know that there are discussions about a season 6 — it seems to be the best way to have a creative resolution to the series, and to tie together a lot of the loose ends that are already out there. It definitely does not sound as though season 5 was planned to be the end of the road for the series, so there are opportunities for the creative team to come out and deliver something that will feel more like endgame.

Because of the faith AMC has in the series and the future, we don’t think that they are going to wait that long at all to announce a season 6. As a matter of fact, we’d make the argument that there will be a season 6 renewal before season 5 even premieres. Think at some point in January.

So why go ahead and do that? For starters, it gives more faith to the fanbase that the show’s going to get a good chance to continue the tale of Jimmy McGill. Beyond just that, meanwhile, it also signals that there will be a chance for the writers to take their time … and get started on scripts sooner rather than later. The faster than the team can get started on the sixth season, the shorter of a break between seasons there will be. We’re expecting at the moment that a season 6 would premiere in the spring or summer of 2021, but if it could come at some point before that, wouldn’t that be excited?

As for the season 5 premiere-date announcement for Better Call Saul, we feel like that’s going to come at some point this month. It doesn’t make sense for AMC to draw it out forever.
