The Blacklist season 7: Who is Frank Bloom? Is he Ilya Koslov?

Tonight, The Blacklist season 7 introduced a new character … at least to a certain extent. On some level, you know about Frank Bloom already.

At the end of tonight’s new episode entitled “Norman Devane,” we learned, through a name change-up with Aram, that Frank Bloom is the name of the Stranger, the man who Raymond Reddington met at the end of this past season. We know that the two have a really deep friendship and have been through a lot together over the years.

Yet, we also wonder if “Frank Bloom” is really this man’s name. It feels far too obvious.

If we had to create a theory surrounding Bloom at the moment, it would be this: The man is actually Ilya Koslov, the person who impersonated Raymond Reddington — but may not be anymore. We take the end of episode 5, where Katarina announces that that she is looking for Ilya, as proof that Reddington is not Ilya. Wouldn’t Katarina know, based on the events of “Rassvet”? Also, remember this — Ilya didn’t feel like the guy who would relish being a criminal mastermind. We could easily see him realizing that he doesn’t want to be a murderer forever and because of that, decides to eventually inhabit another personal instead. Enter Frank Bloom. Maybe this is a chance for him to start a new life.

Granted, if all of this is true … then who is Raymond Reddington? It would have to be someone close to Ilya and, at least for now, the only person we know who was is Katarina Rostova. If that’s the case, things get really complicated and that would be a hard theory for the show to turn into reality. It’s also possible the real Raymond Reddington is involved.

Do you think that Frank Bloom is really Ilya Koslov on The Blacklist season 7?
