Is Atypical renewed for season 4, canceled at Netflix?
To date, we’ll give Netflix at least the slightest bit of credit for being somewhat supportive of this comedy. It may not get the most promotion in the world, but they’ve still shown a willingness towards bringing it back these past couple of seasons. Just think about how many shows at the streaming service have been canceled, and you will remember rather clearly that this has become somewhat of an unfortunate trend for them. A lot of shows haven’t seen the light of a season 3 in the first place!
All of that being said, if there is a time to be worried about the future of Atypical, it could be this season. Why? This is when Netflix went ahead and canceled Santa Clarita Diet, and it’s also when Daredevil came to a close. They also canceled Designated Survivor after season 3, though that was a slightly different situation given that it had only arrived on the service for season 3.
What we’re trying to get at here is reasonably simple — if you want to see an Atypical season 4 happen, you’re better off watching soon and then watching the whole way through. This is the best way to ensure that there are more episodes coming down the road! Netflix wants to know that their series are in demand, and that there is going to be an interest in watching a good year or so later. There needs to be a little more grassroots power behind a series like Atypical, given that this isn’t going to be one that delivers all that well in terms of viewership.
