Outlander notes: What’s going on with season 5 filming?

Outlander season 4

Ready for the latest edition of Outlander notes? We hope so, given that production for season 5 is still going strong — albeit rather quietly.

We are nearing the finish line and because of this, there is a certain awareness among the cast and crew to not give too much away. They’ve got their eye on the metaphorical prize, with that prize being finding the best way to cap off this season and prepare for hiatus. Also, there are probably SO many spoilers around set at this point that they want to ensure everything stays hush-hush in the first place.

Also, another thing that is helping with all of this secrecy — the fact that there is more work being done at night. That is implied from a new post on Lauren Lyle’s Instagram Stories, one that shows a great deal of darkness … and also some production equipment. No real spoiler there, other than just we’ll be seeing some events transpire towards the end of the season at night. This goes back to a phrase that we’ve uttered a number of times already in the context of this series — very few good things happen in outdoor scenes filmed at night! That is typically when there’s some sort of sneak attack happening, or there is some sort of unknown danger lurking.

Meanwhile, in another post on Instagram, you can see Richard Rankin having a little bit of fun with the parking situation! It’s these little posts that do help to remind you that Outlander is an actual workplace — There are also videos occasionally from some of the cast as they head off to set; apparently, it’s a rather lovely drive.

Outlander season 5 is going to be premiering on Starz when you get around to February 16 and we will be here with you every step of the way as we get closer to that big day!

What do you want to see coming up on Outlander season 5?

Then be sure to share right now in the comments! Meanwhile, remember to stick around in the event you don’t miss any other news.
