‘Glee’s’ Grant Gustin adds to resume, books ‘90210’ arc

If you thought that Grant Gustin was limiting his TV appearances this fall to strictly a return to “Glee” as Sebastian, be prepared to be proven wrong. Why? The actor has just signed on for another storyline on a network show in “90210,” and on this occasion he’ll be heading off to college.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there is really not too much known just yet about Gustin’s character save that his name is Campbell and he is going to be a wealthy college student who comes from a very good background. (Strangely, part of this reminds us of Sebastian already.) He will appear in multiple episodes of the show’s fifth season, which could certainly use a boost from him thanks to some pretty low ratings that we have seen for it as of late. (Recently, it posted a pretty low rating of a 0.4.)

So how could this casting impact the actor’s future on “Glee”? Let’s just say that it is just about as you probably assumed: although Sebastian will be back in some capacity as a member of Dalton Academy, he’s not going to appear in that many episodes since there’s only so much of a focus that the show can put on a rival school. With that in mind, he should be able to shoot some work on both series without a problem.

What do you think about Gustin’s casting, and do you think that it will give him a chance to show that much more of what he can do away from a strictly-comedic environment?
