This Is Us season 4 episode 6 sneak peek: A Kevin, Cassidy update

As you prepare for This Is Us season 4 episode 6, what should you know about Kevin, Cassidy and the state of things between them? We know that the two are not together romantically, but there is a rapport here that could build into something more … with emphasis on the word “could.”

For now, though, it’s clear that Kevin and Cassidy are just fine to give each other a hard time while in the process of working out.

In the sneak peek below for Tuesday night’s new episode, you can see Justin Hartley and Jennifer Morrison’s characters do what they can to relieve some stress at the gym, but it’s obviously a different experience for Kevin. Because he is a celebrity, the rules don’t apply the same — he can have his beverages anywhere he wants, and apparently his order also comes with a phone number written on the cup.

While this exchange involving Kevin and the drink is amusing, it does bring forward a larger conversation about romance. In here, Kevin tells Cassidy that his most recent ex in Zoe has moved on and is now dating someone else –she asks him about if he’s going to get serious and settle down with someone soon, and he doesn’t seem to be acting on it. He claims that he wants to, but there’s a difference, of course, between saying that you want to do something like this and then actually being willing to take the plunge. Instead, he’s in Pennsylvania helping out Nicky.

Technically, for now the best thing that Kevin can probably do is focus on his sobriety and making sure he feels good with where he is in life. Romance will come for him eventually (there’s evidence of that in the flash forwards), but it’s mostly a matter of when … and who it will be with.
