NCIS season 17 debate: What was in Torres’ letter to Bishop?
What do we know about that letter? Well, for starters, that Torres seemed to write it while under the influence of hypnosis. It seems to be written with his handwriting, so all signs point to it being his. Yet, Bishop wouldn’t show him what was in it … and that is the new mystery. Of course, if it even is a mystery.

The NCIS franchise has been known over time for having these sort of interpersonal question marks. Take, for example, the mystery that surrounding the Deeks – Kensi box over on NCIS: Los Angeles for many years. With this mystery, there are a few possible solutions.
Is it possible that there were confessions of love in there? It feels unlikely, since we’re not sure that Bishop would be dangling it in front of him like a carrot if it was. If she and Torres haven’t entertained being together, that feels like something that she’d take a little more seriously. It’s possible that it contains little other than chicken scratch or some inside joke or two. Maybe it’s Torres grocery list, which we imagine is constituted mostly of protein.
Or, is it possible that this is all a prank? What if there is nothing within there or Bishop/McGee just studied Torres’ handwriting long enough to create some sort of elaborate prank? We wouldn’t put it past them.
What we know at the moment is simply this — we’ve got something new that we want payoff to on this show — it doesn’t need to come right away, but that doesn’t change our sentiment in the end here.
