Lucifer star Tom Ellis denies Crisis on Infinite Earths appearance
Over the past week or so, the rumor mill has been churning out of control with talk that Ellis would be bringing his Lucifer character of (fittingly) Lucifer Morningstar to the epic CW crossover event. There was some evidence that it could be happening — a Canadian Twitter account famous for sharing set teasers spoiled him being on set, and beyond just that Lucifer is a show from Warner Bros. TV — the same studio as the Arrowverse. Given its own comic-book ties, it was a fair thing to speculate about.
While it is true that Ellis was in Vancouver recently, it just so turns out that he is not going to be a part of Crisis — at least based on what Tom himself to Entertainment Tonight in the video below:
Right, OK, see… this is what happens. I go to Vancouver for the weekend to visit my friend for his birthday and now suddenly, I’m in a different show.

We’re sure that there are some out there who will claim that Ellis is just telling a story to keep the surprise intact, but for now, we’ll take him at his word — plus, that would actually make a surprise appearance in the crossover just that despite him being seen on set.
Regardless of whether or not Tom reprises Lucifer for that show, we do know this: We’ll be getting to see plenty of fun stuff in 2020 when Lucifer premieres its fifth and final season. We know that there’s a lot of fun stuff coming, including the return of Tricia Helfer in some form! With the final season have a 16-episode order, it should feel like a proper end to an era … though there will also be a part of us that always wants more.
