Lucifer season 5 episode 5 title: Amenadiel’s got a new gig…

Lucifer

Just in case you wanted absolutely confirmation that Lucifer season 5 episode 5 is going to be awesome, we’ve got more proof of it now!

In a new post on Twitter, the show’s official writers’ room confirmed that the upcoming episode is going to be titled “Detective Amenadiel.” Not only that, but it was written by co-showrunner Joe Henderson! If that doesn’t give you a good sense of how strong this story could be, what will? This means we’re getting an episode stuffed full of interesting concepts as Amenadiel, in one way or another, finds himself in a new position.

Interested in some other Lucifer expectations for the title character? Then watch our recent video on that subject below! After you do just that, remember to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube and then also view our Lucifer playlist. We’ll have some other news there that you don’t want to miss.

Of course, we don’t wanna get too excited now and think that we’ll be seeing DB Woodside in a police uniform. It could be him just fashioning himself a detective for an episode — maybe he’ll get a cool Sherlock hat like Detective Pikachu. Or, maybe he’ll be referred to in that way sarcastically by one of the other characters. (Remember, Lucifer episode titles are often lines uttered by other characters on the show.)

Regardless of whatever the final reasoning here is, there’s so much to love about the idea of a “Detective Amenadiel” episode. It’s embracing one of the show’s coolest characters and allowing him a chance to try some new things. That’s been from the start what is so interesting about this character. From the start, he has had this wonderful opportunity to see and embrace humanity in ways that we did not necessarily expect. He’s become a parent, built friendships, and learned along the way not too be too judgmental of humanity. There are a lot of things that he can learn about this place, if he gives himself an opportunity to do just that.

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for a while to see this exploration — Lucifer season 5 isn’t premiering until 2020.
