Was someone hypnotized in order to commit a murder? That is the principal question asked by the new promo, and it is fundamentally a terrifying one. Everyone wants to think on some level that they have the ability to access all important parts of themselves … but that is apparently not going to be the case here. Within this episode, a woman is going to be accused of committing a crime and the evidence is pretty incriminating — we’re talking here about her fingerprints being on the murder weapon! That’s a hard thing to talk yourself out of and yet, she claims that she didn’t get up at all during the night to commit the crime. She seems credible.
This is where her insomnia treatments come into play. Did someone train her to commit this murder, or is she being set up as a sacrificial lamb for other people to do unspeakable things? This episode wants you to wonder these things, among of course a number of other questions. Take, for example, who is going to be believe in mind control as a possible outcome to the case among the team. While this may sound a lot like the sort of thing straight out of a comic-book, there could be some scientific explanations that could manifest themselves within this episode. There are reasons why some of this could happen … but remember, this case could be so simple as someone using the insomnia treatments as a cover to go, kill someone, and then put the accused’s fingerprints on the murder weapon after the fact without them knowing about it.
