The Rookie season 2 episode 4 spoilers: Nolan meets Nyla Harper
Next week, The Rookie season 2 episode 4 is going to give you a chance to see John Nolan interact with someone new in Nyla Harper. Who is she? Well, Chicago Med / Once Upon a Time alum Mekia Cox is going to play the latest addition to the show, someone who is going to be bringing her own sort of energy to the LAPD. She’s got a lot of experience — yet, at the same time, it’s different from your standard officer. She is someone who has spent a lot of time undercover, separate from your typical officers. We imagine that she often thinks in terms of how a criminal would; after all, hasn’t she spent a ton of time around them?
While Nolan meeting Nyla will be a big part of the upcoming story, rest assured that there is plenty of other stuff ahead, as well! Below, CarterMatt has the full The Rookie season 2 episode 4 synopsis with some other news as to what’s coming up next:
“Warriors and Guardians” – Officer Nolan gets off to a rocky start after being introduced to his new training officer, Nyla Harper, who has an unconventional approach to police work after her stint as an undercover detective. Meanwhile, Officer Bradford struggles to think of an appropriate birthday gift for Rachel, and Officer Lopez finds herself navigating a case that triggers a personal memory, on “The Rookie,” airing SUNDAY, OCT. 20 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. (TV-14, LV) Episodes can also be viewed the next day on ABC.com, the ABC app and Hulu.
Through this episode, we are very much excited to dive into a lot of the various odds and ends of how Nolan could prove himself to be a great cop now — it’s almost a primer and a perfect chance to show some of what he’s learned. We like to think that every episode of The Rookie brings at least a slight evolution for all of the different cops in the PD, so maybe we’ll see some growth for a number of the familiar faces.
