The Affair season 5 episode 8 spoilers: Noah gets some bad news

The Affair season 5 episode 8 is arriving on Showtime this weekend, and as we approach the story coming on the air, you better be prepared for some chaos … and nobody should be more prepared than one Noah Solloway. Yet, we’re not sure that he is prepared. This is a guy who has been sorely lacking in how he perceives himself; he has found himself, time and time again, in situations where he’s done and said the wrong thing.

In a new sneak peek that you can see over at the link here, Noah gets a tip-off from an old friend about some problems that may be coming his way. In particular, we’re talking about Audrey, his former student, coming out with a book that details an abusive relationship she had with an older man — someone who seems to be based largely on him. This is something that he needs to be prepared for, but also something that he needs to look in the mirror about.

One of the principal questions that, perhaps, Noah should be asking himself at the moment is this: Should he be taking more responsibility for some of his actions right out of prison? The easy answer to this question is yes. What we’ve come to learn about him at the moment is this: He’s using that to justify his behavior. In general, Noah has a tendency in order to justify a lot of his behavior with recent things that have happened to him.

The stakes for Noah with this book are extremely high. Just think about things in this way — he’s got that movie coming up with Sasha Mann, one that he’s already been booted from the set of. To go along with that, we presume that he also wants to continue having a writing career! It’s hard to imagine that he wants his career to halt sooner rather than later.
