Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 4 spoilers: A Dean, Chelsea romance

Tonight on Survivor: Island of the Idols, we saw the sort of fantastic stuff that we love with this show. Think in terms of intense, nuanced strategic discussions. To go along with this, also think in terms of a fun twist with the Island of the Idols. While it does take a lot of time away from other players, we do admit that it was super-fun to see a lot of what we did with Vince over the course of the hour.

What did we learn through tonight’s episode? It was mostly that the women were thinking through almost every angle as to who they wanted out of the game. Also, play your idol if you are in danger, especially if it’s the sort that only lasts a short period of time. This was a terrible move for Vince at the end of the episode, and he now has to live with leaving with an idol in his pocket.

The preview for next time highlighted a romance between Dean and Chelsea, which we certainly know to be a dangerous thing within this game. The last thing that you should ever want to do is paint a bigger target on yourself. There’s also going to be a community vote at Vokai to send someone to the Island of the Idols, and that is a dangerous thing given that there are so many bad things that could happen to Kellee there. Remember that Elizabeth got lucky with Vince leaving, given that this ensured that her spot wouldn’t be blown up at all.

In general, who else feels like this has been a really strong season so far? We’ve enjoyed much of the cast so far this season and, beyond that, the twists and vote-outs that we’ve had a chance to see.
